This edition is listed in Poore's Descriptive cat. of government publications, p. 115, with note that it was "purchased by the Government, for distribution among officials."
Mainly a reissue of the sheets of the 1814 edition (text of "Part first" through p. 128; "Part second" from p. 145 through p. 240) Certain preliminary matter, the "Conclusion" and the appendix of the earlier edition are omitted. The dedication is changed and a new preface added. Part of the material on the Pennsylvania Hospital is replaced by the new section (p. 130-133) on "military and flying hospitals." The introduction (p. [135]-144) to the 2d part, on the medical department of the Navy, is reprinted with alterations. Slip cancels and an excision take care of the changes in the table of contents. The errata (p. [xxvi]) are the same as in the first edition
